Savory pie crust recipe

Old fashion Pie Pastry

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 sticks of butter

1/4 cup shortening

1/3 – 1/2 cup ice water

In a food processor, add the flour, salt, sugar, butter, and shortening.  Pulse for 30 seconds until it resembles coarse meal. Add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough just holds together.

Divide the dough into two halves and shape into a flat round disc.  Wrap plastic and chill for one hour in the refrigerator.
